Ian Kabra is Natalie Kabra's older brother, and presumes he is also her boss. He has an odd relationship with Amy Cahill.

He saves her life one minute, then leaves her in a cave to die. While the Kabras have a rivalry with the Cahills, it appears he may have feelings for her (even though he left her in a cave in The Sword Thief), and vice versa, which Amy's brother, Dan Cahill, does not appreciate. He is a Lucian , along with his sister and Irina Spasky. He is currently in possession of the vial that the whole group of competitors thought was the clue at the end of The Maze of Bones, although it has not been seen since. Ian and Natalie have given the money needed for Dan Cahill and Amy Cahill to continue the race to Nellie Gomez. Vikram and Isobel Kabra, Ian and Natalie's parents, are the leaders of the Lucian Branch.
